The Mayor issues Proclamations designating an honorary day to commemorate major events, conferences and lifetime achievements. 

Individuals or organizations requesting a Proclamation must submit the request at least 30 days in advance of the date the Proclamation is to be presented or picked up at the Mayor's Office. 

Due to the number of requests we receive, please include draft language you would like included in the document.  You may refer to other Proclamations issued to help you draft your language.  For Proclamations, WHEREAS statements allow you to highlight special attributes, accomplishments, objectives, and needs.  However, the Mayor reserves the right to modify the language appropriately.  Since the Mayor affixes her signature to these documents, they must have the ability to edit material submitted.  Should substantial changes be required, a staff member will call you to discuss the modifications.
