Welcome and thank you for your interest in locating, expanding, or starting your business in Findlay, Ohio.
As America’s Top Micropolitan by Site Selection for the past 10 years we know how to create an environment which supports thriving businesses. The City of Findlay team works closely with Findlay-Hancock County Economic Development which is the lead organization for Economic Development in Findlay and Hancock County. If you have not done so already I encourage you to reach out to them as they can assist in walking you through the startup, growth, or relocation process.
If you are wondering about regulations that you may need to follow here are a few quick notes. But be encouraged we do our best to cut red tape and get your business up and running because we understand time is money.
You will need to ensure your business is registered with the Income Tax Department.
If you are locating in the downtown area you will need to have any modifications to the exterior of your building approved through the Downtown Design Review Board.
For construction or remodeling of buildings you will need to work with Hancock Regional Planning Commission for any local zoning or planning approvals. You will also need to get permits through Zoning and Wood County Building Inspection. We will walk you through this. Please start with Hancock Regional Planning Commission who staffs the City Planning Commission Board.
Looking for financial assistance the City of Findlay offers a Community Reinvestment Area, the Blanchard Valley Port Authority, Revolving Loan Fund, Microenterprise Loans, and various other incentives or supports tailored to your goals. Please contact economic development or myself to begin these conversations.
