Dan DeArmentDan retired in April 2021 after a 38-year career in civil/environmental engineering and business leadership. He pursued the opportunity to utilize his technical and business skills to support his community by running for city council. He was elected to represent the 4th Ward in November 2023.

Dan grew up in Sharon, PA and graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He attained his Professional Engineering License while working for a consulting engineering firm in Columbus. He managed two solid waste landfills in Bellefontaine and Carey then spent 4 years remediating hazardous waste sites. During the last 20 years of his career, he managed a local company that designed and fabricated landfill gas flaring equipment, wastewater treatment systems and power generation equipment utilizing landfill gas.  

He was appointed to City Planning Commission in 2015 and served for 8 years before running for city council. Dan and his wife Linda have lived on Glendale Avenue for 32 years and have been involved with many community organizations including Hancock Leadership, Back Yard Mission Trip, St. Michaels Eucharistic Ministry, YMCA, Coats for Christmas, and Children’s Mentoring Connection.
