The Findlay Fire Department is led by Chief Joshua Eberle. He has been employed with the Findlay Fire Department since 1999.  CChief Bio photohief Eberle has had an extensive career in fire service and has worked in many disciplines of the profession. As Fire Training Coordinator and Fire Instructor, he implemented individual training courses and developed classes and training programs for the Fire Department. Chief Eberle was promoted to the rank of Captain in 2010.

Chief Eberle is an assistant instructor for the All Hazards Training Center at the University of Findlay and a Credentials Coordinator for the Country Music Association Awards television program. He is a board member for the Findlay-based charitable organization Fire Relief Foundation; has assisted in development and implementation of Local 381 Smoke Detector Program and Campaign; has assisted in grant applications for Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus replacement and Turnout Gear Extractor; and developed a Confined-Space Entry and Safety checklist for the Findlay Fire Department. Chief Eberle holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Bowling Green State University.

The Chief of the Findlay Fire Department is responsible for all department operations including financial management, union concerns, employee discipline, and supervision of fire prevention and emergency response activities. He also serves as the Department’s representative for various boards and committees, and communicates directly with the City Administration, City Council, and other political agencies.

Assistant Chief Brian Sanders has been with the Findlay Fire Department since 1989.  Before his promotion to Assistant Chief in 2019, Chief Sanders served the department as Firefighter for 12 years, Captain for 9 years and Battalion Chief for 9 years.  With his years of service he brings experience and knowledge of the Department and field to this new position.  As Assistant Chief, he not only supports the Chief in day to day functions, but also manages the training program for all firefighters, continues to actively respond to fire calls and is a great resource for all Fire Department Operations.

Beth Baker functions as an Administrative Assistant to the Chief and oversees such office activities as maintaining personnel files, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and the tracking of the departmental budget.
