The Engineering Department provides civil engineering services to support existing and future infrastructure under the City's jurisdiction. Engineering also issues permits and inspects water and sewer taps, street openings, and sidewalk construction, as well as oversees licensure for sewer tappers and sidewalk contractors.
The office is located on the third floor of the Municipal Building in Room 304 and consists of seven full time employees under the direction of City Engineer Jeremy Kalb.
In addition to developing and managing the public capital improvement projects, the Engineering Department reviews plans, administers bonding requirements and inspects private developments. Private development projects requiring bonding and inspection fees are known as TBR (To Be Reimbursed) projects. Time spent by Engineering staff on such projects is charged to the developer.
